After being on the slopes all week long, our stamina started to show its limits! On Friday we knocked off skiing early and headed over to apres-ski at Lift 8, at the Telluride base. We met up with the gang for happy hour drinks. Dave and Daniel went on to a fantastic dinner at Bluepoint, a seafood restaurant, and shared a romantic moment together.

Friday was also the last night in Telluride for Dennis, Ken, and Nick. John came down the mountain, and the six of us feasted on chocolate fondue and liquid desserts at the Noir Bar, located coincidentally underneath the Bluepoint restaurant.
That evening the winds picked up, and with the howling and rocking of the gondola cabin, the trip back to Mountain Village became an amusement park ride! |

Saturday was our last opportunity to ski, and the three of headed up the mountain with high hopes, only to find that the weather had wreaked havoc during the night. The winds had overturned anything that wasn't bolted down, and the trails were strewn with fallen branches and pine cones. We gamely went up and one trip around around the mountain, but seeing the same conditions everywhere we decided to call it a week. Better that we come home with no broken bones!

What do gay men do when they can't ski? They go shopping! Heck, when do queens need an excuse to shop... We doffed our ski wear and headed down to Telluride for surprisingly flavorful Chinese food, ran errands, then scoured the town for souvenirs and gifts.

Our final meal in Telluride was French food at La Marmotte. After stuffing ourselves, we headed back up the mountain to pack and get ready for the trip home the next morning. It was a wonderful week of skiing, spending time with John, and making new friends. We look forward to our next adventure!
